Running quiz

I was scoping out some other runners’ blogs on wordpress and came across a short quiz on Tulip’s blog. So… I took a copy for me :-)

1. What time of day do you run? Varies… these days in the afternoons, but long runs Sunday early mornings.
2. Where do you usually run? Local roads on Lea Hill area of Auburn.
3. What is your favorite song to run to? Don’t listen to music now… used to be “White Wedding” by Billy Idol.
4. Any advice for dropping pounds while running? Get a heart rate monitor and run aerobically in the right (fat-burning) zone.
5. When did you start running? In the spring of 2003 after I got tired of being a fat-ass.
6. What’s your post-race/post-run ritual? Stretch, walk, shower, eat.
7. What do you eat before you run? In the morning,cup of coffee and maybe a Clif bar (an hour before).
8. What’s your favorite running movie? Fav running scene in a movie would be “Forrest Gump”.
9. What’s your motivation for running? (or when you first started running) Staying healthy and in shape. Knowing that as a marathoner I am in a group that’s less than 1% of the population.
10. What are your running shoes? Brooks Adrenaline GTS-5.

  1. John, were you able to find a source for the average american’s running distance? I know it has to be published somewhere. Just curious if you had found it.

  2. Hi just found your blog after you left a comment on mine. Do you mind me asking when you started running, and how? (As in did you join a club or just go by yourself?) I am interested in starting to run long distance, but am unsure where or how to start!
